Let’s be work ready..

Is it important to have a college degree to start working? Is it important to be in Twenties in order to do job or business??

Well the answer is a big “No”.

These days students have become fast learners. They can adapt to every given situation. The ones in teens are also correct material for being workforce if they are guided well. The concept of internships is very important to let them get a fair idea about real requirements of business world. Internship helps them get needed exposure to generate idea about which skills of their matches the market requirements. Internship enables them to figure out how they can contribute to wherever they work. We have this belief system that when passion becomes profession, work becomes plaything. Internship acts like a window for students to know about how to divert passion till profession.

1. Parents 

We observe that mindset of parents play a crucial role in shaping career of child. Over parenting leads to suffocate the growth of children. They will never learn to make decisions on their own. Under-parenting leads to child becoming clueless and may be prone to lose direction. A desired style of parenting that is needed in current times is to hand hold till the child becomes aware and then allow him to take decisions. Its okay to make mistakes. Its okay to switch jobs. We need to teach our children that they should find what they feel they get pumped up when they work for. Parents should act like pathfinder so that the child is emotionally ready for going through internship process joyously

2. Student

Student should be explained about the significance of internship. When brain registers that it will be helpful activity, then the willingness to sincerely work would enhance. Every learning experience be it pleasant or painful, if taken positively, makes a lot of impact on analytical skills. Internship when taken as practical learning approach, would be as equivalent as academic learning. The mindset towards internship and sincerity is a major criteria to access the outcomes of learning. It needs to be understood by the student that a lot of hard work is demanded to get favourable results.

3. Internship place

Professional internship is very common, be it for medical field, CA or architecture, but when students are exposed to management internship, creative writing, technology or app based work internship, it is important that the work place is in alignment with mindset of the intern. Healthy work culture, calm minded seniors who assign work, proper orientation, repetitive teaching, proper guidance are all essentials for good internship journey. It is social responsibility of every business house to nurture the interns, take interest to feed their curiosity and motivate them to go beyond their boundaries in terms of their inputs for a better outcome of efforts.

Just as we experiment and get expertise with experience , of done at early age, our young students will definitely get edge over others and be experts at early age. Internship is highly recommended for high school as well as higher secondary school students.
